METRONET is set up to promote an integrated approach to project oversight, planning and design. However, as each project is at a different stage within the program, it allows flexibility for delivery arrangements.
A METRONET Taskforce, chaired by the Premier, oversees the planning, financing and delivery of the program of projects.
Executive Committees focusing on key program areas - transport infrastructure, and station precincts - provide the Taskforce with recommendations on key decisions and issues. Membership of the METRONET Executive Committees comprises executive leaders from across the public sector, working together to achieve the wider
METRONET program objectives, including optimising the opportunities for transit oriented housing and jobs.
Feeding into these committees is the integrated METRONET Team, which draws specialists from across-Government. The team is responsible for planning and designing projects up to the investment decision. Once in construction and delivery, the team will monitor the project’s implementation.
