METRONET is a job-creating program of works, which will provide local businesses with significant opportunities.

Early engagement with industry has and will help define the projects to make sure they are built on time and on budget so the people of Perth can benefit from them.

The Public Transport Authority’s Major Projects Unit will build the rail infrastructure.

DevelopmentWA or Western Australian Planning Commission will be responsible for these masterplans’ statutory implementation.

Nominated agencies, such as DevelopmentWA or Department of Communities will prepare the relevant planning schemes and complete detailed structure planning and development where required.

Information on the various packages of work will be released via TendersWA.

Morley-Ellenbrook Line Construction Industry Briefing - December 2019

Local construction and supply chain companies looking to help deliver the Morley-Ellenbrook Line project are invited to attend an Industry Briefing and networking opportunity.

The briefing will provide an in-depth overview into the project’s procurement as well as an update on other projects including the Thornlie-Cockburn Link, Yanchep Rail Extension and the Level Crossing Removal project.

Construction Industry Engagement Survey - October 2019

Construction and construction supply industries are invited to complete an online survey to help inform upcoming procurement activities for METRONET’s rail infrastructure delivery.

The 10-minute survey follows one initially conducted in December 2017 and seeks to update the Public Transport Authority’s understanding of industry’s capabilities and views on critical success factors to design, procure and deliver major transport infrastructure projects.

Construction and related companies are encouraged to register their services on the METRONET business register.

This register will be provided to successful tenderers after contract award.

Please note, registering your services does not guarantee work or imply State Government endorsements. It is provided as an opportunity to connect major construction companies with local businesses.

Jobs

This is Perth’s most ambitious program of rail projects and will deliver approximately 72 kilometres of new passenger rail, up to 18 new stations.

But it’s not just about public transport.

The job-creating project will see transport investment as a vehicle for land-use planning to create vibrant new communities.
