METRONET is a job-creating program of works, which will provide local businesses with significant opportunities.

Early engagement with industry has and will help define the projects to make sure they are built on time and on budget so the people of Perth can benefit from them.

Local businesses are encouraged to register their services on our Construction Business Register. The register is provided to successful tenderers after contract award.

Information on the various packages of work will be released via TendersWA.

METRONET are committed to working with Aboriginal businesses to help deliver parts of the program. View the capability statement

Construction and related companies are encouraged to register their services on the METRONET business register.

This register will be provided to successful tenderers after contract award.

Please note, registering your services does not guarantee work or imply State Government endorsements. It is provided as an opportunity to connect major construction companies with local businesses.

Jobs

This is Perth’s most ambitious program of rail projects and will deliver approximately 72 kilometres of new passenger rail, up to 18 new stations.

But it’s not just about public transport.

The job-creating project will see transport investment as a vehicle for land-use planning to create vibrant new communities.

All employment opportunities in relation to METRONET projects will be managed directly by the third-party contractors.

You can search for available job opportunities via Seek, using ‘METRONET’ as a key word.

Infrastructure Ready Skill Set TAFE program

People interested in signing up to the free Infrastructure Ready Skill Set TAFE program can register their interest by emailing irp@dtwd.wa.gov.au.

The program will partner with industry to increase opportunities for jobseekers to be part of Western Australia's transport infrastructure boom. Eligible participants will take part in a free four-week intensive training course at TAFE campuses across Perth and gain an inside look at some of METRONET’s major construction projects including the Bellevue Railcar facility, Yanchep Rail Extension, Thornlie-Cockburn Link and the Denny Avenue Level Rail Crossing Removal.

The course will equip participants with basic measurement and calculation skills relevant to construction with a focus on safe work practices. Participants will also learn skills to operate small plant and equipment used on construction projects.
