Full steam ahead for Western Australia’s newest city centre

The Western Australian Planning Commission has given the green light for WA’s newest city centre located on the future Yanchep Rail Extension. Landcorp’s Alkimos Central is a transit oriented development with a centrally located train and bus station.

It will provide a focal point for the creation of up to 13,500 local jobs needed for a projected population of 60,000 people who will one day live in the Alkimos-Eglinton District.

Located on 212 hectares east of Marmion Ave, at the heart of the 25km coastal corridor between Joondalup and Yanchep, Alkimos Central will provide key services, a social hub, new residential options, a transport hub, as well as health, recreational and entertainment amenities.

Initial earthworks for the train station are expected to start in mid-2019.

Works for the stage 1 of Alkimos Central are planned to start shortly after METRONET works are underway.
