With each Morley-Ellenbrook Line milestone reached we’re getting further into the detail of the 21km rail line with five new stations.
Following WA Cabinet endorsement of the Project Definition Plan, concept images and station details, such as access, parking and facilities, are now available for the future at Ellenbrook, Whiteman Park, Malaga, Noranda and Morley stations.
Station features include parking for a total of about 3,300 cars, four bus interchanges, universal access, cycle facilities, toilets and shared paths connecting them to the surrounding networks.
The Project Definition Plan has also confirmed:
The 21km line is Perth’s biggest public transport project since the Mandurah Line was completed in 2007. The new rail line will connect Perth’s fastest growing population area, the north-eastern suburbs, to the CBD while also improving access to other destinations on the rail network, including Perth Airport.
As part of the METRONET program, the Morley-Ellenbrook line project is more than just a train line. The project provides locals more options when choosing how they travel, where they work and where they want to live. Station location and design has been carefully considered to support and stimulate the development of thriving community precincts. This is particularly evident at Malaga, Whiteman Park and Ellenbrook, where significant development is still to occur in areas adjacent to the stations.
Once complete, the line will allow passengers to seamlessly travel from Morley to the CBD in 15 minutes, and from Ellenbrook to the city in 30 minutes
