Did you C Perth’s new trains?

  • 19 April 2021

Thanks again to everyone who came and visited us at Yagan Square over the school holidays!

The life size model of the new C-series railcar was on display from Saturday 3 April to Sunday 18 April, where more than 9,600 people walked through and experienced the next generation of Perth’s trains, see a 1:50 model of the train, and took part in a scavenger hunt.

Visitors also took their photo in the driver’s spot of the train and found out more about METRONET projects.

Feedback from the future C-Series passengers was overwhelmingly positive with everyone loving the wider doors, that there are now three doors per carriage and USB charging point under the side-by-side seats. There were mixed responses about the higher backed seats and move away from carpet on the floor.

This invaluable feedback you provided in person, via a feedback form or by phoning or emailing us after the event will now be passed on and considered as the designs are finalised.

The model has now left Yagan Square to its new permanent home where it will be used for training purposes.

Keep an eye out in 2022 for the first of the C-series railcars to be delivered under the METRONET Railcar Program.
