The Armadale Line is reopening and it’s time to celebrate!

Join us on Sunday, 12 October for Elevate and Celebrate – a free, family-friendly event marking three major METRONET milestones:

  • the reopening of the Armadale Line
  • the Byford Rail Extension opening for passenger services
  • official opening of Long Park.

Enjoy two exciting event hubs, one at Byford Station and another along Long Park between Oats Street and Carlisle stations.

Plus, the new elevated Armadale Station will have community stalls, children's entertainment and food trucks.

Join the celebrations at either end of the now even longer Armadale Line!

What’s on

Travel along the transformed Armadale Line and enjoy:

  • free kid’s activities and amusement rides
  • live entertainment and community performances
  • community market stalls showcasing local groups and businesses
  • food trucks and refreshments
  • METRONET project info and giveaways!

Dog-friendly activities at Long Park

Bring your pooch (on a lead at all times) to Long Park – the area between Carlisle and Oats Street stations – for a paw-fect outing for your furry pal. Don’t miss:

  • the Puppy Pawrade at 11:30am – dress up your dog and strut the “dogwalk” (register on-site)
  • the Puppy Wall – the perfect backdrop for selfies with your dog.

Dogs are welcome at Long Park, but just a heads-up, pets are to be on a lead at all times and aren’t allowed on trains or other Transperth facilities (including stations and platforms). Please plan ahead.

Assistance dogs

Transperth permits animals on their services if they are approved assistance dogs. Assistance dogs, including guide dogs, must have a valid photo ID card issued by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, or by a recognised training organisation. Read more here.
