Standard working hours are from 6am – 7pm, Monday to Saturday and Sunday when required. Night works will also intermittently be in operation 7pm – 6am.
All work will follow approved Noise and Vibration Management Plans.
Permanent closure of Denny Avenue Level Crossing (From April 1, 2021)
From approximately 8pm, 1 April 2021, the Denny Avenue level crossing will permanently close to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians. When the new Davis Road underpass opens it will allow the Denny Avenue level crossing to be permanently removed.
Alternative crossings will need to be used while the works are taking place.
Significant traffic management will be in place on local roads near the level crossing. Allow extra travel time.
Access Changes for Railway Avenue and Bray Street (February – April 2021)
From February 17 both lanes of Railway Avenue between Third Avenue and Cammillo Road will close. Railway Avenue will be widened to four lanes and road barriers relocated.
Residents at 65 - 89 Railway Avenue and on Bray Street will access their properties using a temporary northbound access road.
Cyclists and pedestrians are not permitted to use the access road. Detours will be in place via Merrifield Avenue and Camillo Road.

Lane and road closures of Streich Avenue and Davis Road (January – April 2021)
In early January the northbound lane on Streich Avenue between Ottaway Street and Denny Avenue will close. A detour for northbound traffic via Ottaway Street will be in place (refer to map below).
From 18 January, the Streich Avenue-Davis Road intersection and Davis Road will fully close. Access to 8 - 12 Davis Road will be through the Sizzler driveway off Albany Highway (left in, left out only).
This is to allow for the following works:
- Constructing the rail bridge and retaining walls along the rail corridor.
- Services installation.
- Constructing road surfaces and barriers.
- Installing a high-pressure gas pipeline, water main and storm water drain
Works will take place between 6am - 7pm, Monday to Saturday. Out of hours works including Sunday and night works will be required intermittently. Night works will follow an approved Noise Management Plan.
The community may notice large trucks and machinery on local roads and in the rail corridor creating noise and vibration.
Detours and traffic management will be in place. Access to residential properties and businesses will be maintained at all times and pedestrians can use Streich Avenue and Davis Road to access Kelmscott Plaza.

Impacts to Church Street (January – March 2021)
From 31 January the Church Street/Albany Highway intersection will close with no exit from Church Street onto Albany Highway. This is to facilitate works on Albany Highway to replace and relocate the water main.
Detours will be in place via Rundle Street, River Road and Page Road in both directions (refer to map below).
Albany Highway will remain open for one lane traffic in each direction.
Works will take place between 6am - 7pm, Monday to Saturday. Out of hours works including Sunday and night works will be required intermittently. Night works will follow an approved Noise Management Plan.

Works on Third Avenue (8 February – mid April 2021)
Third Avenue will be reduced to one lane of traffic (east bound traffic only) and there will be some full closures (between Railway Avenue and Camillo Road) to allow for the following works to take place:
- Storm water drainage installation by open excavation.
- Installing road drainage, sewage pressure main and service utilities.
- Road construction to realign Third Avenue.
There will be access for local residents and parishioners of Kelmscott Baptist Church only. Detours on Railway Avenue, Third Avenue, Merrifield Avenue and Camillo Road will be in place (refer to map below).
Works will take place between 6am - 7pm, Monday to Saturday. Out of hours works including Sunday and night works may be required intermittently. Night works will follow an approved Noise Management Plan.
The community may notice large trucks and machinery on local roads creating noise and vibration. All work will follow approved noise and vibration management plans and every effort will be made to reduce impacts where possible.

Impacts to Gilwell Avenue (November 2020 – February 2021)
There will be staged impacts to Gilwell Avenue as works continue on Albany Highway to replace and relocate the water main. Traffic management will continue relocate as the works progress.
Works will include:
- February 2021 – Following Fancote Street reopening, total closure of Gilwell Avenue/Albany Highway intersection.
Albany Highway will continue to be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction.
The community may notice large trucks and machinery on local roads and in the rail corridor creating noise and vibration. Detours and traffic management will be in place.
Night works will be required for the weekend closure, and will follow an approved Noise Management Plan, complying with the Australian standards and the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations.

Construction on Railway Avenue and Third Avenue (November 2020 to April 2021)
Works will begin on road realignments, service relocations and installation of a new signalised intersection.
- Widening Railway Avenue to four lanes from south of Third Avenue to south of Bray Street.
- Realigning Third Avenue to connect to Davis Road.
- Installing a new signalised intersection at the realigned Third Avenue and Railway Avenue.
- Road construction works include major excavating, and utility service relocations.
- Detours in place on Merrifield Avenue and Camillo Road.
In December, Railway Avenue southbound lanes (east side) will be closed between Third Avenue and Cammillo Road. Sections of Third Avenue will also be closed, and access to Slee Avenue from Third Avenue will be permanently removed (Slee Avenue will become a cul-de-sac).
Access to properties will be maintained at all times. However, some detours will be in place where lanes are closed as per the Traffic Management Plan (see detour map below).
Some noise and vibration from large machinery may be experienced but all work will follow approved noise and vibration management plans.

Closure of Davis Road (November – April 2021)
From November 9, access to Davis Road from Albany Highway will be temporarily removed. Access to Davis Road will be via Streich Avenue and Kelmscott Plaza carpark.
In late November, Davis Road will be entirely closed until April 2021, with temporary closures of Streich Avenue near to Davis Road also. Local access will remain.
This is to allow for the following works:
- Completing the storm water installation including micro tunnelling works under Albany Highway.
- Widening Davis Road to four lanes and adding new turning pockets near the underpass.
- Installing two new sets of traffic lights at Davis Road/Albany Highway and Davis Road/Streich Avenue
- Excavating, asphalting and realigning roads with temporary closures of roads and intersections where required.

Detours and traffic management will be in place.

Water main installation on Albany Highway eastern side (September 2020 – March 2021)
Traffic management will be set up to relocate and replace a water main on Albany Highway.
As part of these works there will be upgrades to Albany Highway, Fancote Street and Gilwell Avenue that include utility services relocations, footpaths and pavements.
Albany Highway will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction with traffic management in place.
Large machinery on Albany Highway and Fancote Street will be used to excavate the existing road surface to complete water main relocation works. Road reconstruction will follow.
Detours will encourage drivers to use local roads, and access to local businesses will always be maintained (through detours when required) via side roads and laneways.
