Stations come alive with public art

  • 18 March 2024

Over the past few months, eye-catching pieces of public art have been popping up at stations along the Yanchep Rail Extension.

The first piece to make its debut was the glass discs at Alkimos Station (Kyleeup). Adding to this is a newly completed mural by artist Chris Nixon that features lines from the Melaleuca Paperbark tree found throughout Alkimos, and shapes reflecting the coast and waves washing up onto the shore.

At Yanchep Station, an impressive wall mural of local flora and fauna has been completed by local artist Jack Bromell.

At Eglinton Station (Wilgarup), tiles representing the colours of the Eglinton landscape are now a key feature at the station platform.

The tiled artwork at Eglinton Station platform is now in place.

Over the next few months, ceiling artworks will also be installed at all three stations, as well as an entry screen art piece at Eglinton Station (Wilgarup) and a shade canopy art piece at Yanchep Station entrance.
