Full steam ahead at Whiteman Park

  • 20 June 2023

Works are rapidly progressing on the new METRONET Whiteman Park Station, which will become a major transport hub on the new METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line.

The entrance to Whiteman Park Station will be at ground level with passengers greeted by a landscaped station forecourt and grassed areas before making their way up to the two elevated platforms.

To date, 12 of the 40 beams needed to complete the elevated rail structure have been installed and following this, concrete will be poured to complete the viaduct structure.

The new station will include 900 parking bays and 10 bus stands, as well as a pedestrian walkway underneath Drumpellier Drive to give residents in the growing communities around Brabham safe access to the new station.

Whiteman Park Station will service the Henley Brook, Dayton, West Swan and Brabham communities that are anticipated to boom over the next decade, with 12,000 new homes expected to be built for the 32,000 people choosing to live in the area by 2036.

To make the most of this transport investment, the Whiteman Park Station Precinct Concept Master Plan establishes a shared vision for the station precinct, informing structure planning in Brabham and future updates to the Whiteman Park Strategic Plan. It will also create a central hub to service current and future communities, complete with modern facilities that meet the daily transport needs of passengers.

Passengers using the station, which will become operational in late-2024, will see a 25-minute trip to the Perth CBD on the new Morley-Ellenbrook Line, slashing 20 minutes off the current trip by bus.
