New Bayswater Station to reopen 8 October 2023

  • 23 September 2023

The new Bayswater Station will partially reopen on Sunday 8 October with passengers able to use train services running on Midland and Airport lines.

The new Whatley Crescent extension will also open on Sunday 8 October, linking Whatley Crescent to the existing Railway Parade and Beechboro Road South and will ensure the smooth flow of traffic under the new elevated station.

Bayswater Station will become a key connection point, joining the Midland, Airport and the future Morley-Ellenbrook lines.

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti MLA expressed her gratitude for the Bayswater Community

“This new station is completely transforming the heart of Bayswater and I want to thank the community once again for their patience and understanding as we deliver this critical project.”

“The opening on Sunday 8 October will be the southern half of the station and include an entry building either side of Coode Street, with lift and escalator access, stairs, two station platforms and artwork that reflects the local community of Bayswater.”, she said.

“There is still a lot of work to go on the northern platforms that will service the future METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Train Line. When it’s completed next year, the new station will service three train lines from four platforms and will include 10 new retail spaces around the entrance to the station.”

Lisa Baker MLA, Member for Maylands

“It’s incredible to see the new station taking shape. I encourage the community to come down and check it out when the southern platforms open.

“The new METRONET Bayswater Station will be the only station outside of the CBD to service three separate train lines which will see this part of our community become a thriving hub in the years ahead.

Major works are continuing the northern half of the station which will eventually service the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line.

Bus routes diverted while the station was being upgraded will now return to their original alignment including the CircleRoute (998/999) and Route 48 bus services.

More information on the timetables and bus stops is available on the Transperth website.
